【摘要】:Materialfinerthanthe75-x03BC;m(No.200)sievecanbeseparatedfromlargerparticlesmuchmoreefficientlyandcompletelybywetsievingthanthroughtheuseofdrysieving.Therefore,whenaccuratedeterminationsofmaterialfinerthan75x03BC;minfineorcoarseaggregatearedesired,thistestmethodisusedonthesamplepriortodrysievinginaccordancewithTestMethodC136.TheresultsofthistestmethodareincludedinthecalculationinTestMethodC136,andthetotalamountofmaterialfinerthan75x03BC;mbywashing,plusthatobtainedbydrysievingthesamesample,isreportedwiththeresultsofTestMethodC136.Usually,theadditionalamountofmaterialfinerthan75x03BC;mobtainedinthedrysievingprocessisasmallamount.Ifitislarge,theefficiencyofthewashingoperationshouldbechecked.Itcouldalsobeanindicationofdegradationoftheaggregate.Plainwaterisadequatetoseparatethematerialfinerthan75x03BC;mfromthecoarsermaterialwithmostaggregates.Insomecases,thefinermaterialisadheringtothelargerparticles,suchassomeclaycoatingsandcoatingsonaggregatesthathavebeenextractedfrombituminousmixtures.Inthesecases,thefinematerialwillbeseparatedmorereadilywithawettingagentinthewater.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountofmaterialfinerthana75-956;m(No.200)sieveinaggregatebywashing.Clayparticlesandotheraggregateparticlesthataredispersedbythewashwater,aswellaswater-solublematerials,willberemovedfromtheaggregateduringthetest.1.2Twoproceduresareincluded,oneusingonlywaterforthewashingoperation,andtheotherincludingawettingagenttoassistthelooseningofthematerialfinerthanthe75-956;m(No.200)sievefromthecoarsermaterial.Unlessotherwisespecified,ProcedureA(wateronly)shallbeused.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
